Privacy policy
This policy describes how we approach data in the words web app. It may be updated as the product evolves.
Overview
words is an English-learning game. We collect only what we need to run the service, keep you signed in when you choose to log in, and show meaningful practice stats.
Sessions and cookies
When you use the site, the server may set HttpOnly cookies so your browser can stay authenticated without storing passwords or tokens in page scripts. Guest play may also rely on a session cookie so rounds and submissions are consistent for that visit.
Accounts
If you register or log in with email or a third-party provider, we store account and authentication data needed to identify you and protect your account. We do not sell your personal information.
Gameplay and analytics
Task submissions, scores, and related metadata may be stored to power stats, content quality, and product improvement. Aggregated or de-identified metrics may be used to understand usage patterns.
When enabled by the site operator, we may use Google Analytics 4 on public pages to measure traffic and coarse product signals (for example rounds started, answers submitted, errors). Those events do not include your password, email, or the text of quiz questions you see; review Google’s terms for how they process data.
Your choices and retention
You can stop using the service at any time. Account deletion or data export, if offered by your deployment, will follow the process documented by the operator of that instance. Contact the site operator for region-specific rights (for example access, correction, or erasure) where they apply.
Changes
We may update this policy when features or legal requirements change. Continued use after updates means you accept the revised policy unless applicable law requires otherwise.
